The fiancee and I had dinner at Kopi Tiam @ Swissotel The Stamford recently, and we were left pretty impressed, but pretty broke as well.
The first thing that struck us was the ambience. A very nice old world charm of how singapore would have looked in the 70s-80s in a coffee shop.
We ordered the Chicken Rice, Fried Rice, Tofu with Century Eggs and Kang Kong. The food actually tasted pretty good, save for the Kang Kong which if I’m honest, was over cooked and under seasoned.
The Chicken Rice was the highlight of the meal, complete with authentic Chilli, Garlic and Black Sauce.
Given that the restaurant is located in such a busy hotel in Singapore, it is indeed representing one of Singapore’s most famous dishes very well!
Good job guys!
